Notes from the Tch Laureates

And, we’re back! While the slow days with family and the space to think creatively — which make me crave summer break — are delightful, so too are all the possibilities in a new year. I’m excited to continue to make my practice more responsive to students’ needs and interests and to challenge students to do some satirical creative writing this fall.

Another way I want to improve this school year is by better supporting the new teachers who come into my building. While teaching can be all-consuming for veterans — as our Back to School To Do List can remind us — squeezing out a little time to support the rookies is so important. One resource I’m looking forward to sharing is the New Teacher Deep Dive, which has a plethora of helpful resources. On the blog this month, you'll also find an interesting list of lesson planning templates and a look at one teacher’s journey to blogging in the classroom. Might be just the spark you need for your new year!
