Routines are such a natural part of our classrooms. We have routines for how students move around the classroom, how they make their way to other classrooms, how class periods are organized, and even the times students can sharpen their pencils. We see the value and importance of these routines, but I wonder if we realize the equal importance of content-focused routines, such as Number Taks. Content-focused routines provide a structure for teacher planning and student learning that is invaluable in the classroom.

I’m so excited to launch the second set of videos in my Math Routines series! As you’ll see, the structure of the routines don’t change by grade level, yet the content is planned to be grade appropriate. I look forward to hearing your feedback and learning more about the content-focused routines you use in your classroom.
