While many people think that your hardest year of teaching will always be your first, that wasn’t true for me. My eleventh year in the classroom was my most difficult. Classroom management proved to be more challenging that year than ever before. Whether you’re a first year teacher or a 25-year veteran, different groups of students provide different types of challenges. We can all benefit from a few tips to support our students in being their best.

In this edition, check out some strategies to get students’ behavior back on track and ways to prepare students for productive group work. When our classroom management is on point, our jobs are so much more enjoyable, which means we’re more likely to return to the classroom year after year. If you have thoughts about best ways to keep teachers in the profession, you may want to blog for us. We’d love to hear your thoughts about teacher retention.

Here’s to a great last few weeks of teaching in 2017!
