The adage goes, “culture eats strategy for breakfast.” But in classrooms, poor culture also eats lesson plans, student motivation, achievement, and teacher job satisfaction. In the work of maximizing human potential — that is, teaching — nurturing an engaging and empowering culture is not a nicety, it’s a necessity. Building culture is as much an art as science, and an on-going, ever-changing journey. Thankfully, there’s a new Class Culture Deep Dive to guide that journey, featuring support to help with building and nurturing relationships, establishing norms and managing a classroom, engaging in mindfulness practices, and so much more.
