We all leave a trail when we surf the web, and it’s important in this digital age for our kids to realize this.
Notes from the Tch Laureates

Happy New Year! Over break, I was pleased to have had some quality time with my family, as well as some down time alone. In my down time, I reflected a bit on the the things I still want to accomplish with my students this school year, particularly as it relates to my Getting Better Together work. With more than a third of the year behind me, I considered which of my students has yet to develop a growth mindset; which of my students need increased intervention to be able to reach end-of-the-year goals; and which of my students are still learning to be able to accurately self assess and plan next steps. In the new year, we’ll revisit the goals we set for ourselves during family conferences and evaluate where we’re at. If the goals have been met, we can select new ones. If not, we can recommit and make New Year’s promises to ourselves to work towards our goals together!

I hope you and your students enjoy a wonderful start to 2016!

Q&A: Answer These Questions
Q: I have never been a good disciplinarian, but this year the students will not listen to me. Nothing I try seems to work.
Q: Seriously, where do I begin to make the change over to NGSS and Common Core?
Q: I am a new instructional coach. I am struggling with a particularly resistant teacher with whom I have been assigned to work.
