Notes from the Tch Laureates

As I connect with colleagues on various social media platforms, I’m reminded that everyone has a story — both personal and professional. These stories help bond and unify us. And as I connect with more and more teachers, I’ve begun to realize that connecting means more than sharing lesson plans or thoughts on quality education. It also means understanding who we are beyond our teaching theories and practices. We’re more than educators. We’re moms, dads, daughters, sons, grandmothers, athletes, community members, volunteers, bloggers — the list is endless. Every day, we engage in activities — inside the classroom and out — that define who we are and inspire us to reach our full potential.

This past week Tch launched a Week In The Life instagram campaign. Follow Teaching Channel’s Instagram channel to see photos of the Tch Laureates, including me, as we go through our daily lives as educators and, perhaps most importantly, as people. First up was Josh Parker. This coming week, we’ll get glimpses of Josh Kwon’s daily life. We encourage you to add your own pics of your life as a teacher using the #tchweekinthelife hashtag on Instagram.
