Winding down before winter break also instinctively means gearing up for a fresh start. We got a fabulous question recently from a member of our community about that very topic: a restart in January. After watching the video, Setting the Tone from Day One
, new teacher Keisha Morrison asked:“I'm new to teaching…and I did not hold [my students] to my standards... Is there any way I can regain that control at the first day of school in January having allowed the rules to wane in September?"
Keisha, the answer is YES. My Tch
colleague Lily Jones added her insight and reassurance: “It's never too late to "restart" your classroom. The beautiful thing about teaching is that you always have a chance to try again and improve.”
