Notes from the Tch Laureates

Being an educator is a selfless and humbling endeavor. This past week, we were celebrated as educators for our passion, determination, and commitment to our students and the profession. First, as a teacher, but more importantly as a parent, thank you all for the energy you put in every day. In my #TeacherLove blog post this week, I honored my mother (a fellow educator) for her commitment to the classroom and to our family. My hope for you this weekend is that you can reflect on the story of someone who had an impact on your choice to become an educator, while also celebrating your own family and the support and encouragement they provide. And to the teacher-mothers, thanks to you in particular for your ability to be that motherly figure in both your students’ lives and the lives of your own children. While this balance may not be an easy one, as I know firsthand, I admire you for your perseverance, empathy, and guidance. Happy Mother’s Day!
