Notes from the Tch Laureates

Recently, someone posed a question to me about poetry and it went like this: “Can you recite a poem and name its author in 15 seconds to win one million dollars”?

I am an avid reader and have spent hours reading thousands of books. But to my surprise, I couldn’t come up with an answer. Luckily for me, April is National Poetry Month — one of the largest literary celebrations in the world, with a goal to bring poetry into classrooms. I’ll be checking out as many Tch resources on poetry as possible. And, to celebrate National Poetry month in my classroom, my students will be encouraged to read their favorite poem in our Poetry Reading Café. Hopefully in time they — and I — will be able to answer that million dollar question.
