Question Detail

Ms. Kimberly Rochon kindergarten class, Letter S

Jan 17, 2013 3:39pm

When you taught the letter S for the week, I noticed you did so many other activities that day. Since you mentioned that it was the letter of the week, does it mean each day you spent time doing different activities for the letter?

I'm not sure what Ms. Rochon did, but I know that when I taught kindergarten I did "letter of the week" activities throughout the week. I had students locate objects that started with the letter, practice writing/reading/saying words that started with the letter, draw and write the letter, find the letter in books and around the room, etc. It was particularly fun to form the shapes of letters with our bodies and write letters in shaving cream :-)
