Economics/ resource lessons 3rd grade

Jan 21, 2013 8:55am

This is my first year in 3rd grade after 17 years in kdg, so the standards are new to me. One of our standards is for my kids to identify the four resources: natural, human, capital, and entrepreneurship. I'm not even sure I have a solid grasp of the last two. Any suggestions on how to explain it simply enough for 8 year olds?

Use a garden as an example. The Labor is the student working with the capital (Shovel, Hoe, etc.) to work the ground & water (natural resources) the entrepreneurship would be the stands that people set up on the roadside to sell the excess produce that they do not eat (Advertising signs etc.) Good Luck
