More than likely you are doing lessons in which you are already using some of the mathematical practices. I've found that you just have to be more aware and intentional with them. In my room, I have a bulletin board devoted to them including symbols representing each practice. I try to end some lessons by having students reflect/discuss which ones they used during that class. You can also go to to find more information about the practices.

        Hi Jennifer,
I highly encourage you to look at the sample items that PARCC has recently released that are aligned to the standards and evidence statements at Many of our PARCC Educator Leader Cadre (ELC) members have found them very useful during lesson development! Additionally, you can find other mathematics resources at that will aid you in your instruction.
