What kind of videos are you looking for specifically? Is there is a particular grade or subject you'd like to see?
Thank you for your reply, Katie. I have undergraduate students exploring teaching in urban schools. They are mostly juniors & seniors. Their interests run the gamut from general to special education; Pre K and elem reading; to Middle & HS, Math, Bio, History, and ELA.
I welcome your advice
This might be a useful video for anyone considering teaching in urban schools-- it shows the first year struggles of two teachers, but also has great coaching insights along the way.
thank you Jackie. I'll review it now
Mark- There are a couple of videos on this site specifically about teaching in urban schools. Check out the following:
How They Do It in Chicago: Leadership
All Girls Academy Breaks the Cycle of Poverty
Also, it may be worth is contacting a local urban school and getting permission to video tape some classroom with editing, so students can understand the real challenges teachers face in urban schools.
I immediately clicked on your question, looking for the same answer. I am a new york city high school teacher, and I would like to see more videos of teaching in urban schools and more videos of high school students. Most of the videos on this site(the much I have seen) are for the early grades.
