Thank you, Brian. I am new to Classroom as a platform. I had students working with a partner creating a collaborative document based on close reading of a short story. One member of the team created the document in Classroom and shared it with her partner and the other opened the shared doc in her Google drive. They could both edit the doc. I assume the creator is the one who needs to submit the completed work. If anyone has done this type of work in the past and can advise I would appreciate :-)

I use Google docs for collaborating all the time. I have one member of the partnership or group create the document and share it with the other member(s) with editing permissions. I also ask that they share it with me with the editing permissions so that I can see who did what on the document and when (see this by clicking on the "last edit made..." link). They can follow the same steps for collaborating on slides (powerpoints), sheets (spreadsheets), etc. For peer editing, I've had students share to others with "Comment Only" permissions so they can comment to their hearts content, but leave the editing to the owner(s) of the document. I've had great luck with partner and group essays using this feature!
