Question Detail

Does anyone have creative ideas for teaching Greek and Latin root words?

I'm wanting to branch out from the traditional flashcards approach to learning the roots and move toward more application using the derivatives. Would like to incorporate technology too.

On the technology side you can use the Jeapordy game that can be programed to categories. You can also use the mobey or clickers. For an interactive point I used my students. As they came into the room, I put cards with strings aroung the neck. Then as part of the guided practice we would form words by students standing together and then linking the definition. It also made for a great assessment activity in a literacty workstation.
