Question Detail

For the past 15 years we've been teaching reading comprehension strategies such as cause and effect, inference, generalizations, etc. Then our assessments focused on multiple choice questions that somehow determined whether a student used those strategies. As I'm trying to grasp the common core, I'm trying to understand if I should focus on explicitly teaching those strategies. How will the assessments show comprehension?
