Question Detail

Grade 9 Science

Jul 3, 2013 1:18am

So I just found out that I'll be teaching one class of Science in the ninth grade. The modules that I will be teaching fall under four main categories: Reproduction, Chemicals, Electricity, and Astronomy. It's been awhile since I've taught science and the curriculum that my province here in Canada uses has gone through many changes. I know that I want to approach my teaching of this course so it's hands-on. Besides pen and paper, what are some basic materials that I should have when teaching this course? For extra credit, what misconceptions should I be aware of when teaching these modules? Are there vocabulary words that I should emphasize so it translates to their future science classes like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology? Thanks in advance.
