Question Detail

Greetings, I have an interview to become a middle school Math instructor for Memphis City Schools. I have a phone interview set up, but during the interview, they would like for me to present a lesson plan in the subject I would be teaching. Usually, Math like this requires visual aids and I will not have the benefit of that during the phone interview/presentation. How should I go about creating and presenting this lesson plan? I need all of the help, suggestions and ideas that I can get. Thank you!

They are probably more interested in your knowledge of lesson design. Explain the objective, how you would activate background knowledge, and how you will build student engagement. As you're talking describe the learning activity (like what Lauren suggested) and then go on to talk about how you will assess learning, have students monitor their own progress, and how they will reflect when they are finished.

      Hope this helps,
