      Catherine-

I'm not from NY, but I was looking up EngageNY on the web, and it seems to be very closely aligned to the Common Core, which is focused on close reading of text. Is that what you're looking for because if so, there are many people in this network who have experience and lessons with that?

I'd love to hear more about what you're looking for!

Yes, that is what I am looking for. I'd like to know if anyone has actually implemented it prior to the upcoming school year. I do not live in New York either. I know it has been used by other states.

Has anyone taught math curriculum from Engage NY?

I am a fifth grade teacher in California and our district is using EngageNY as our math program this year. I piloted parts of it last year and I love it. It is important to review the lesson to think about any unexpected questions you might have from students and to familiarize yourself with the lesson because some parts could be difficult for the students to immediately grasp. I like how the daily practice and homework have an exact match, and there is an exit ticket which I used as my checking for understanding so I would know which students might need extra support during the practice.
