When asking students to view literature or informational text though a particular lens, I design my lenses based on the Common Core standards. To be creative, ask students to design their own "lenses" (glasses, spectacles, etc...) out of paper, string, pipe cleaners, etc... and then ask them to write an explanation of how to use their lens based on the assigned standard. Even your seniors will love to create the lenses but it will also give them an opportunity to really explore the standards and reading strategies that help give proficient readers meaning.
Hope this helps,
