The document Holly is referring to is Appendix B. They actually provide rigorous texts for each grade span in literature, informative text, and poetry. They even have great example prompts that can be used as writing prompts after the close read.

I would start by looking in the ELA standards in the appendix. There are suggested texts listed for each grade band.
There is a site called Tweentribune that has reading texts and activities for Close reading and Common core for all levels K-12.
Great resource of different things that would interest all students.
