Tables in group of four, facing each other, a "reading rug" in the front of the classroom that the whole class can sit on (I've seen a dot rug that was great, 24 giant dots, one for each kid, so personal space is regulated? A few large tables in the back of the room for reading and math centers, a book shelf area and art are of space allows. And lots of boards/clothes lines around the room to show off work!
