Nancy, I don't know if this is relevant for you anymore, but thought I'd chime in anyway. I use a workshop model where I begin with a review, then direct teaching of a new concept/game, allow for independent or group work time (where I walk around and observe, help as needed), and then a closing review/conversation/share-out. I also bring out math games/activities we have already done during our centers time as an additional choice if a student gets done early.
