You can add 7 to both sides of the equation and also subtract 2z from both sides, so you are left with 2z = 11, then divide both sides by 2. Is that what you were looking for?
I take 2Z from both sides, so then it's 2z-7=4; add 7 to both sides, so it's 2z=11; divide both sides by 2, then it's z=11/2
