Do you mean Response to Intervention and tier 2? Our elementary school has brief twenty minute meetings (during recess) once a week by grade level where they bring up academic and behavior concerns and look to their teammates for support with ideas to try. Students with continuous needs and triangulated data (three sources in the same subject) are recommended for tier 2 supplemental instruction. The team develops an action plan, progress monitoring instrument and schedule and the classroom teacher implements it for the first cycle of 8 weeks. At that time, the team reviews the progress and if intervention is still needed, instruction shifts to the reading interventionist or math interventionist or school counselor (behavior). We continue to review these students each cycle (8 weeks) and make adjustments to meet the student needs. Sometimes, student needs are great and intervention changes to a different program or more frequent is is tier 3. Students still behind following tier 3 are usually referred to PPT to determine if testing or special education services are necessary. Both reading and math intervention use programs: LLI for reading and Do the Math for math. Interventionists, special education teachers and reading/math coaches meet every cycle with administration for updates on students in tier process and look at whole school data to see who else might be indicating some struggles. It is a systematic, yet fluid process that we've refined over the last 5 years.

I don't know where you live, but there are several states & cities that have rti2 manuals, guidelines, etc, online. I live in Tennessee, and the tncore.org site has the manual you can upload. You can also download rti2 documentation templates that can be adapted to your school's needs. Houston County Schools also has a "quick guide" that you can download. We are setting up the program now in the middle school where I teach; everything is quite new...and for me, very exciting!
