Be creative I don't what's the age of the boys but let's say think of something really is going to get their attention, a sport team, a place, a tv show , an app anything think will make them listen and comment attractive way to start, like have you heard .....did you know..... you re going to get to know them and learn about their interests and use it as you talk about your learning idea, it will take some time but once you learn about them and show them that, they will trust you and be better listeners and get the work done.. I hope this helped..
Not to generalize.... but boys love materials and process! (Girls do too, but I find that when I've got a group that is energetic and impatient with assignments, if I give them a sculpture project or something with clay, the level of focus in the room really increases!)
One of my favorite projects is dot painting. It is easy in terms of materials and teaching, and students LOVE it. I would be happy to share it with you if you are interested. Just let me know.
