Question Detail

I am an ELL Instructional Coach. This means that I support all teachers (ELL and non-ELL) who have English Learners in their classrooms. In many cases, the teachers with whom I work have had little to no prior coursework or professional development in working with ELL students. One struggle I have is balancing how much information a teacher can take in at any given time with the race to help their students achieve academic success. I believe that without sustained professional development and continued coaching partnerships, the teachers with whom I work might never achieve the level of success they want for themselves or for their students. This being said, I wonder if there are others out there who are in a similar position and what strategies you might be using to build longer lasting partnerships with teachers?
