I have one student in my class struggling with impulse control issues. Specifically, he has trouble maintaining focus in class. I suspect that, at least in part, some of his trouble is with extreme frustration when he has trouble with a difficult concept, which happens daily, and results in him quickly losing focus and an inability to regain composure or move on. I am unable to change the entire lesson plan to accommodate him. Does anyone have any suggestions on classroom management strategies I might be able to use?
