I'm moving from upper elementary to 2nd grade. Any helpful hints?

I have taught upper elementary for many years, and next year I will be doing a mixed 2-4 grade class. Do you have any recommended summer reading, activities, or advice for adjusting my teaching style and overall classroom tone for the younger students? I have been watching some lower elementary videos here on teaching channel and that has been helpful, but I would love more suggestions!

I was moved from 3rd grade to 9th grade (remedial reading). I would recommend seeing if you can sit in some of these classrooms to observe the expectations. It is important to set attainable goals for your students, but you don't want to make the mistake of letting them get away with a lot because "they are younger". Also, the younger you go, the more consistency is needed. I was able to feel my 9th graders out with the change because they were old enough to go through a different procedures before we found one that worked for us. I found when I was teaching 3rd grade, change was difficult for them. Hope this helps! I am moving back to elementary next year and am so excited to be back the youngsters!
