Question Detail

Making Prezis in the classroom

Nov 2, 2014 9:40pm

For one of my assignments, I'm asking my students to make a Prezi for the novel we are currently reading (Night by Elie Wiesel). The Prezi must include theme, tone, examples of figurative language, diction, imagery, details, and a few other things. All of these must have a quote from the novel for each one (ex. for imagery, the student must provide a quote that shows imagery being used by the author). We have a classroom set of Chromebooks and all of my students have an understanding of how to use them. However, I'm worried that asking them to make this assignment in class might be a disaster. I want to incorporate technology for sure, but I don't know how many of my students know how to use Prezi. My question is, do you think it's too much to ask for my students to complete this assignment in class over a couple of days? Do you think it would be better to give them an option of using either Prezi or PowerPoint? Would that solve the problem I forsee? Thoughts please!
