PD experience for math teachers

Nov 5, 2015 2:46pm

Dear teachers of math, I am at the point in my career where I'm looking for PD opportunities to improve my practise. Please describe a PD, a class, or a workshop you had participated or attended that you found most rewarding. Also describe an opposite experience if you can. What made it (or not) worth while? What suggestions would you offer so it's worth more of your time and/or effort? Thank you and happy teaching!

I went to the Asilomar Conference years ago and thought it was great. Lots of workshops to choose from with hands on ideas and good speakers.

This looks great Lauren. Did you get the chance to participate, or were you leading, or did both? What made your experience memorable?

I went to participate. I just liked that the whole event was dedicated to math teachers and that you got to choose presenters that interested you. I left with some hands on ideas as well as some great exposure to discussions and talks about mathematics educaction in general.
