It may sound simple; but, I would look for dandelions. If you could find them when the seeds are all ready to be blown off I'd have a kid or two do it and then lead the class in a conversation on why they think a dandelion can be yellow or fluffy white. *Most* students have experienced this (depending on where you teach). If you don't teach in an area with dandelions then maybe the maple tree seed pods (that swirl when they fall) or any type of seed or weed that can be easily found where you live. Have fun!
