It's an approach to creating a class culture that's structured around cooperation, not just busy work or group work done in teams. The purpose of having students work in teams is to encourage engagement through talk of the subject matter and not mere off-topic discussions. It's not having any student do all the work for the rest of the team even though that may happen depending on team dynamics. Short answer - I am finding that It's alot of work on teachers but so worth it once the teacher finds his/her own style in order to implement the set of ideas or part thereof.
