I have been teaching for close to 40 years. I've taught English, French, Italian, History from junior high to community college. Every year brings something new and different. This summer I'm working on getting my Technology Certificate, so I am looking forward to launching a website and having students in my high school English do the same!

I am looking forward to beginning to teach Junior Seminar in grade 11 and using the QFT (Question Formulation Technique) with my students.

Sketchnoting in the classroom. I've been creating my own sketchnotes of the 4th grade History-Social Science lessons. Students will make their own sketchnotes of the stories I tell from my sketchnotes. I did one lesson last year and my students were fully engaged. I'm excited to do more this year.

Next year will be my first year teaching (after a long journey of switching careers and finding that perfect apprenticeship program)!! A personal interest of mine has been entrepreneurship and minimalism. I read a lot of productivity books. Next year I will be implementing the "12 Week Year" program (I highly recommend checking out the book by Brian Moran) with a fresh new Bullet Journal.
The 12 Week Year gets rid of annualized thinking and moves towards a more proactive approach. Every week is a "month" that you have to keep track of your goals. I am keeping track in my Bullet Journal with my Yearly Log, Monthly Log, and Daily Log. I'm excited to take my productivity to the next level next year! My main focus for the classroom next year is to (1) intellectually prepare for my lessons wayyy in advance and (2) respond to misbehaviors consistently (to maximize the time in the classroom spend on learning).
