What is the best way to divide the instructional time when co-teaching ?

I am getting very bad feedback in evaluations because of the co-teaching method implored in the class. What is the best way to divide the instructional responsibilities? I am currently doing all of the lesson plans and instruction while the co-teacher takes attendance or walk around the room. This is new for me so, help!

      My co-teacher and I have an excellent balance, but we have that because we actually meet together sometimes and practice. That's crucial, especially in the beginning of the working relationship. By this time of the year, we've learned how to use visual cues across the room to switch back and forth in presenting new info to the students. Some days we each teach mini-lessons in the classroom, other days we teach one topic together and take turns being the one actually talking. We also sometimes divide the class into two parts in order to differentiate an assignment. As far as the administrative part of the process, she takes attendance on the computer while I'm getting the kids started each day and the kids are never interrupted for that. I usually record most of the grades in the gradebook and have the room ready -- reminders on the board, papers run off, etc.. -- when the kids come into the room. This works pretty well for us. e presently team teach in a senior British lit class, and both of us also teach other seniors and tenth World lit. I teach newspaper journalism, she teachers yearbook. This class is an inclusion class and we also have an inclusion teacher in the room, but the students really look to us for instruction. Every few days, I send out an email to both of them and a copy to myself with directives for the next few days, including sometimes listing smaller topics we need to cover or jobs that need to be done and ask which responsibilities they would like to take on, then I take whatever is left.         Thank you, this is very helpful. She is the inclusion teacher and I always question how much should be done to meet the needs of students needing her individual one on one. I really appreciate the information about sending the email for the upcoming classes to give her a chance to pick what she wants to do.
