what is the difference between informational text and literature when it comes to common core standards?

I'm a student and I am doing a shared reading lesson with the common core standards and I didn't know if fiction is considered literature and informational is non-fiction. There are different core standards for each?

      Basically, yes, literature is fiction and informational is nonfiction. And, yes, the common core reading standards are split into two categories.

        You will see different standards for the two genres: literature and informational.
