What's a fun activity for systems of equations?

Perhaps something to get students active, thinking, and creating after they've learned the basics of solving by graphing, substitution, and elimination.

      Hi Andrew, Have you introduced Linear Programming problems? They are heavier on the graphing but can be fun to solve. I recommend different colored pencils and large pieces of graph paper. You can also use technology to do the graphs as another activity for the students. Here are some good examples:

        That would imply that your students have no fun in class. Try having students come up with their own problems for other students to solve. By working on the questions, students will have a greater insight into their own abilities.

          Thanks for the suggestions. I LOVE the idea of runners in a marathon, as I am currently training for one! We are beyond systems for the year, but will touch back on it a bit for the final. And good stuff to think about for next year.
